Both laser engraved tactile elements, and physically raised tactile elements are used to prevent the reproduction of identification documents. Simply by touching the ID you can evaluate whether the correct tactile elements are present and correct.

6. Lamination

Lamination is used as the final step in the ID creation process and is vital for holding together all the layers of the ID. Lamination prevents separation of the individual layers and can be used to visually assess whether any physical tampering or damage is done to the document.

The combination of these six modern security features and many others ensure that citizen’s personal data and identity are protected, and makes replication of IDs extremely difficult.
